Hey everyone,
My name is Skyler, and I just made my profile here on interfaithing. I started a club at Eastern Washington University, in Spokane Washington, after seeing hateful demonstrations towards people of different faiths. After being a club for only two quarters, the CIS is one of the largest clubs on campus, and have members from fifteen different traditions! We have hosted members of the Tibetan Parliament-in-exile, as well as authors, orators and professors from a variety of backgrounds. We are even planning a trip to the local mosque to participate in Friday worship. I am so pleased to be apart of this group and hope to work with you all to make the world a better place!
"The principle of compassion lies at the heart of all religious, ethical and spiritual traditions, calling us always to treat all others as we wish to be treated ourselves. Compassion impels us to work tirelessly to alleviate the suffering of our fellow creatures, to dethrone ourselves from the centre of our world and put another there, and to honour the inviolable sanctity of every single human being, treating everybody, without exception, with absolute justice, equity and respect." -- Karen Armstrong
