Event Description:
This multi-faith conference is to enable teachers to learn about Hinduism, Judaism, Islam, Sikhism and Christianity from experienced workshop leaders from each of these faith communities.

This event will extensively enhance a teacher’s ability to contribute to their school's duty to promote community cohesion and will help teachers learn about and from different faiths.

It will enable teachers to learn different strategies for creative delivery of Religious Education in their schools. The creative medium will include music, art, dance, storytelling and role-play highlighting the way other people celebrate their faith and the reasons/stories/meaning behind their practices.

This offers a prime opportunity for teachers to improve their ability to contribute to children’s spiritual and cultural development, as advised in the Local Agreed Syllabus and required in the primary curriculum.

By attending this course teachers can enhance their own understanding of these faiths thus giving confidence to their own classroom practice.

The conference is aimed at all those involved and interested in RE for children aged four to 14, including SACRE Members, school governors, teachers of RE in that age range, teaching assistants, headteachers and initial teacher training students.

The cost of this event will be £85 for SLA schools and £90 for non SLA schools

Delegates will gain confidence in understanding the teachings and practices of five different faiths and participate in a variety of activities from the faith communities which can be used as teaching strategies to deliver creative RE.
