Event Description: Please join your sisters and brothers in faith in a celebration of our diverse faith traditions in central Pennsylvania and to pray for justice and peace at the 2nd Annual Commonwealth Interfaith Service: Prayers for Justice and Peace.

We currently have representatives from the following traditions who will be offering prayers from their traditions: Christian (several traditions), Jewish, Muslim, Bahá’í, Buddhist, Native American, Hindu, Sikh, and Unitarian Universalist. We expect to be joined by several others as well.

Come early—around 5:00 p.m.—for music by the vocal trio Three Twelve.* The Rev. Dr. Russell Sullivan, Pastor at Pine Street, will provide a welcome to all who attend, and the congregation will host a reception following the service, offering food and drink from the traditions represented. A variety of music will be offered during the service as well, including Three Twelve, the Old World Folk Band (Jewish folk/Klezmer); the choir of Goodwin Memorial Baptist Church, the Unisingers of the Unitarian Church of Harrisburg, Native American flute by Sterling Green, and Buddhist chant. Becky Boone will offer a liturgical dance.

We come together in the belief that we share a common desire for a more peaceful and just world, and that we can be a powerful voice and presence for peace in our community, throughout the country, and in the world.
