Featured Speaker: Pastor Kendal Brown serves as the founding pastor of City of Refuge, Washington, DC. He is a native of Danville, VA and is the former Associate Pastor of Christian Education, City of Refuge United Church of Christ, San Francisco, where he served under the leadership of his spiritual mentor, Bishop Yvette A. Flunder. He also served as the Associate Director of Admissions at both Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley, CA and Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC. He holds a Master of Divinity degree from Virginia Union University School of Theology. He is currently enrolled in the MS/PhD program in pastoral counseling at Loyola University in Baltimore and serves as a clinical intern. With a passion for targeted ministry to marginalized persons, Pastor Brown serves this community with a clear call to persons who are hurting, to provide a place of healing for those who are seeking spiritual refuge.
