Dalai Lama - Secular Values & Ethics

On April 30, 2010 His Holiness the Dalai Lama gave an informal address at a gathering at MIT. In his speech, he talks about developing a compassionate society and secular ethics. He talks about the need for people of faith to practice what they preach. He talks about the importance of secular values and how they are values that are shared with people of faith. Therefore, secular values and ethics are universal values.

I agree when he says that there needs to be a "secular way to approach promotion of secular ethics in order to achieve, in order to build happier human society." I love watching these videos and learning from The Dalai Lama, what a great teacher. Thanks!

I agree too. As long as we see certain values and ethics as being exclusively religious, or exclusive to a specific religion, the world and humanity will remain divided. Compassion, love, and peace are universal values shared by people of faith and no faith alike!
