To me the answer is: Learning. Learning about other people is what brings you close and allows for a connection to be created between two people. Seeking to understand others is, in my opinion, an amazing place to come from. And that is what Interfaithing is all about for me; Learning.
It’s a known fact that human beings take in and create in their own mind; ‘first impressions’ about people they meet. Sometimes these first impressions keep us from really being able to meet and connect with someone, which is unfortunate. What we all should do is seek to learn from others as much as possible. When two people begin to share and learn from each other, they are both engaged in a search meant to allow one (or both) to discover something, to learn.
“A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.” –Henry Adams
My goal is to learn and grow as much as possible, and I want my life to be filled to the brim with learning and growth, that’s why I’m involved in Interfaithing. I’m Interfaithing because it’s an opportunity for me to learn about the world, to learn about my own spirit and soul, and especially to learn from others. We all have a great opportunity here to learn from each other, to grow as individuals, and to affect the world positively by increasing the amount of friendship and respect on the planet.
So now that you know why I’m here Interfaithing (to learn and grow), if you wouldn’t mind, go ahead and share with us why YOU are here, and what we can help you gain from your Interfaithing experience.
Sincerely,
Mitch
