Religious historian Karen Armstrong addresses the TED audience about reviving compassion among humanity by implementing
the Golden Rule. She describes how all of the world's religions are built on a foundation of compassion and yet people decide to believe obscure doctrines that are the cause of much of the world's problems. Instead, we should learn to look within ourselves, discover what causes ourselves pain, and refuse to inflict that pain on anyone else. By choosing to show empathy for our neighbors and putting compassion into action, we can help dissolve stereotypes and work together towards building a global community of peace and harmony.
