Mind & Life Conference VII With The Dalai Lama

As a follow up video to yesterday's article titled Happiness: Eastern Spirituality Meets Western Science, we present to you an excerpt from the Mind & Life VIII Conference in 2000. The video was produced by a SylvanVideo crew in Dharamsala, India and documents a meeting between western neuro-scientists, psychologists and philosophers and the Dalai Lama. The video features Daniel Goleman, Paul Ekman, Richard Davidson, and John Cleese.

The Mind & Life Conference is organized by the Mind & Life Institute who's mission is to help foster dialogue and collaborative research between modern science and contemplative spirituality. In April 2010, the Mind & Life XX Conference took place in Zurich, Switzerland and was themed "Altruism and Compassion in Economic Systems: A Dialogue at the Interface of Economics, Neuroscience and Contemplative Sciences". From November 19-21, 2010 the Mind & Life XXII Conference will take place in New Delhi, India and will be themed "Contemplative Science: The Scientific Investigation of the Effects of Contemplative Practices on Human Biology and Behavior".
