New on Interfaithing

Right now, there are thousands of interfaith groups around the world dedicated to fostering dialogue and religious understanding. Even more, there are millions of people around the world who don’t necessarily know what interfaith is, but believe that religion can be a source of peace. Now, wouldn’t it be great if there were a central meeting place for everyone to connect, share, and spread the message of interfaith around the world? Those overwhelming numbers, and that dream are what inspired interfaithing.com into existence.

Since our launch in October 2009, our mission at interfaithing.com has been to unite and grow the global interfaith community. The past four months have been full of invaluable learning experiences for the interfaithing team. We have met some amazing interfaithers and leaders from around the world. Thanks to their support and guidance, our initial vision for interfaithing.com has evolved into something we are very excited to share with our members, and the interfaith community.

Those who you who have frequented our site, or are members, will know that we are an online interfaith community with daily interfaith news, positive news, videos, and a large interfaith resource. We affirm that while various faiths may differ in their beliefs and traditions, they are all connected by a common set of morals and values (also known as the Golden Rule). We support every individual’s right to religious freedom while encouraging education about the religious other as a way to dissolve any and all misconceptions. We believe that the best way to accomplish this is to learn about each other, from each other.

In an effort to offer interfaithers all of the available resources to accomplish this goal, the interfaithing.com staff is proud to present a new version of the site. All of the features that you already love about interfaithing.com still remain, and we have added a bunch more!SOCIAL NETWORK

We built upon our already existing Interfaith Community forum and created an Interfaithing social network. Two types of profiles are available: interfaith group profiles, and personal profiles. Either way, its quick and easy to set-up.

1. Interfaith Group ProfileAre you the leader of an interfaith group in your community? Chances are, your group is already listed in our interfaith group directory. Being listed in our directory means that when people in your area search for a group to join, they find yours! However, now we are taking it to a whole new level. Having an Interfaith Group Profile is like your own mini-website. Post news, upcoming events, photos, videos, and even chat with members in the group discussion section.

2. Personal ProfileWant to connect with other interfaithers around the world? Want to promote your blog or website? All this and more is included when you sign-up for a personal profile. Having a personal profile is a great way to introduce yourself to the global interfaith community, as well as share events, photos, videos, news, blog posts, as well as promote your blog, website, Facebook and Twitter accounts.
