Scholar and author Paul L. Heck discusses his new book "Common Ground: Islam, Christianity, and Religious Pluralism" at the Rumi Forum. He talks about the subjective and objective aspects of religion, and the need for religious "knowledge" to create a pluralistic world. He notes that there is too much emphasis "identity" and that causes people to get caught up in the "blame game"; an idea that a particular country, culture, or religion is solely to blame for the world's problems. He asks that we all need to stop and think and realize that all religions are a positive presence at heart in the world. In the end, different communities need to build their own "knowledge" in order to communicate with each other and have a common conversation.
