Rabbi Michael Lerner - Spiritual Progressives

American Jewish activist and founding editor of Tikkun magazine, Rabbi Michael Lerner, talks about the importance of interfaith dialogue at the Parliament of World Religions 2009 in Melbourne, Australia. He talks about the important work of the Parliament and the universal values of love, compassion, and peace that go beyond religion and can be a shared vision of people of faith and no faith alike. Rabbi Lerner talks about his Network of Spiritual Progressives (NSP), a global movement pushing for a new bottom line that challenges the misuse of religion, god, and spirit, and challenges anti-religious and anti-spiritual assumptions and behaviours.

Interesting, this is the first I've heard of Spiritual Progressives. A different type of an interfaith group as he explains. I agree that people that are spiritual, or that do not have a religion, can be apart of an interfaith group or movement. Many of them are already.

I agree! The values he is talking about like love, compassion, and self-giving are universal values that go beyond religion.
