Talking Faith

Talking Faith is the 2007 documentary that follows Sarah (a Christian) and Azam (a Muslim), two friends living in Pakistan with the realities of post 9/11 where Islam is associated with terrorism and Christian minorities face aggression by extremists. Although they live in a society divided by religious misconceptions, they discover a human bond greater than any of the differences they may have. The documentary offers insight into the opinions of young people within the contexts of faith identities, interfaith dialogue, and the trials and benefits of interfaith relationships. It explores the misconceptions that are dividing Christians and Muslims, and exposes a global conflict founded on lies. It also includes comments by prominent actors of interreligious debate in Pakistan including Dr Mehdi Hassan, Dr Javed Ahmed Ghamidi, Bishop Alexander John Malik and Rev. Elvin Wilson.

Talking Faith is produced by first-time filmmaker Naveen Qayyum, a former intern at the World Council of Churches who worked with the Communications department for interreligious dialogue issues in Switzerland.
